Moulding Futures aim is to challenge stigma, build confidence, self-esteem, skills and opportunities for those disadvantaged and those who fit into the NEET group (Not in Education Employment or Training).
By disadvantaged we mean - anyone with a mental health condition, young people; especially those with little or no qualifications or those who have been excluded from formal education, single parents, people with mental health conditions and anyone with a disability (including learning disabilities and those on the Autistic Spectrum, ADHD etc) and individuals who are in difficult circumstances that are not listed above will also be considered.
We believe in individuality and that everyone deserves to have choices - no matter what their situation. Our projects are all quite creative and a lot of what we do is around awareness work to try to challenge the way we currently view people that we’re told don’t fit.
Individuals can either go through a programme designed for them, take part in workshops or courses as and when they are able. Both lead to some volunteer work experience actually working on the projects themselves.
The projects are listed below and training will be given as part of the process to allow people to experience them in the best way possible with support, understanding and regular reviews to ensure that people are happy with where their path is taking them.
Signing up now allows us to send regular email updates which will include information on courses, workshops and projects. Individuals can get involved right now with the Make it Clear! Awareness events project (Make it Mental! has been running for two years now and we do other awareness events during the year). We have events planned for 2010 that make a great starting point. Self-esteem and confidence will rocket by taking part. Join the committee, donate, sponsor or work in partnership - these are other ways to support us too. To find out more about each project you can click on the project bubble below and it will take you to a new page. Some of these projects also have their own web- sites and facebook pages open to the public to join.
We are really excited about this organisation and hope you will be too!
